Lansdowne Street is known for being the nightclub destination both now and in the past. The father of the Boston Globe, Eban Jordan built the structures that look like garages and they are still serving the nightlife community to this day. As the years went by, the building constructed at 15 Lansdowne Street had its share of being home to various businesses, but the nightclubs still had a home. It was n 1969, though, that 15 Lansdowne Street became one of Boston's biggest entertainment location when the psychedelic club known as "The Ark" opened up. After that the Boston Tea Party moved into the same location. The Ark became host to so many rock star acts like Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead and Led Zeppelin. Manager of the Tea Party, Don Law later became one of the most reputable concert promoters in Boston. The rising disco era took over Boston and new management took over 15 Lansdowne Street. Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell partnered with Jon Addison to purchase the building, converting it to a glam disco known as 15 Lansdowne. Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell sold out their share a few years later and moved back to their roots in New York City, opening up the famous Studio 54. In the meantime, Jon Addison hired a young guy named Patrick Lyons as the manager for the venue, renaming it "Boston-Boston." Later, he and a few investors bought out the remaining nightclubs on Lansdowne Street, creating a hot spot that would be the life of every party in Boston.
