The place is the stuff of legends -- Muddy Waters would literally play for his supper here, as would Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. If that's not cool enough for you, we don't know what is! Brief Description :: for you. It's a no frills, neon-lit masterpiece of old school Texan hospitality, and you are pretty much guaranteed some kind of action here if you're looking for it. There are weekly deals on drinks, a taco truck outside (naturally), and a dance area that has seen plenty of stomping in its time, with serious dancing going on, and weekly dance lessons available. Definitely one to include on any list of Austin hookup spots, even if it's just for the novelty factor. Throw in whiskey on tap and live music every night and you've got yourself a date hookup winner. Free popcorn is the icing on the cake.

You can mix it up with other nearby venues, if you so desire, and make Alamo part of a full night of drinking, dancing, eating, and movie watching. There isn't just one Alamo, either, they're spread out across town, so if you want to coordinate with other venues it really couldn't be easier for an Austin date hookup.
